Director of NA Sales Engineering – Mobility – Seattle Based

Description
This is a senior management role that will lead a team of Solution Architects to create and win new business with our existing key accounts as well as develop new market opportunities. This team is responsible for Architecting Solutions based on our clients leading edge MMS products which meet the technology needs of our customers and providing quality support to the Sales team.

Responsibilities
Delivering contract winning profitable Solutions to client’s accounts.
Ensure Product and Solution expertise across a team of Solution Architects.
Managing and contributing the responses to RFI/RFP/RFQ’s.
Key influencer on User Content Strategy.
Technical and Cost Validation of all Sales proposals.
Presenting NewBay Products/Solutions to large audiences (C-Level).
Key contributor to Product roadmaps.
Work with local and global management team optimal use of sales resources.
Enlist and retain top talent; motivate, mentor and coach Solution Architects.
Drive continuous process improvement within the Sales department.

Requirements
Degree in a technical discipline
2+ years experience managing Sales Engineers
4+ years Sales Engineering experience
Direct experience architecting Solutions for large Tier-one Operators
Systems Knowledge:
Networking : Switches, Routers, Load balancers, Firewalls, etc
Storage: NAS, SAN, Cloud based storage
Database clustering: Oracle RAC
Web and application Tier sizing
Transcoding and Streaming
High Availability: 99.999%
Software Knowledge:
Protocols: HTTP, SyncML, ATOM, SMPP, SMTP, SIP, XCAP, XMPP
J2EE, Apache, Tomcat, JMS
Mobile Platforms: Brew, Android , J2ME, RIM, Symbian and OSX
Markup: XHTML/WML/Ajax
Telco Knowledge:
WAP Gateways
SMSC/MMSC/SDPs
Billing Systems
IMS
Devices /Smartphones
Other Domain Experience: Cloud Services, Media & Social Networking
Entrepreneurial drive and proven ability to meet aggressive goals.
Proven Track record achieving aggressive Sales targets
Strong management skills
Excellent written, oral and presentation skills

Remuneration

SEATTLE – SOLUTIONS ARCHITECT – WIRELESS

Description
Architecting Solutions based on our client’s MMS Infrastructure products which meet the technology needs of our Service Provider customers and providing quality support to the Sales team by creating deal winning profitable proposals.

Responsibilities

  • Responding to the technical elements of RFI/RFP/RFQ’s
  • Providing Technical Solutions to Customer problems in a professional and timely manner
  • Technical and Cost Validation of all Sales proposals
  • Interfacing face to face with customers to define technical solutions
  • Preparation and Delivery of technical presentations
  • Assessing customer specific requirements to accurately estimate delivery effort
  • Delivering proof of concepts which meet customer business requirements
  • Requirements/Essential Skills/Attributes

Requirements

  • Degree in Computer Science or other related field
  • A minimum of 3 years experience in a pre-sales or consulting role in wireless software
  • Significant hands-on and direct experience in systems architecture with large Tier-one Operators
  • Solid understanding of the following software technologies: J2EE, Apache, Tomcat, MySQL, XHTML/HTML/XML/WML, Ajax, J2ME and Symbian S60
  • Knowledge of the following protocols: HTTP, SyncML, ATOM, SMPP, SMTP, SIP and XCAP
  • Ability to write a proposal that address customer requirements including: Hardware, Software and Network components
  • Self-Motivated Problem Solver with the ability to engage with customers
  • Excellent written, oral and presentation skills
  • Work on own initiative and under pressure
  • Ability to work with a team to deliver proof of concepts and prototypes

Desired

  • Exposure to:
    • Wireless technologies: MMS, SMS, Billing systems and IMS
    • Networks (switches, routers, load balancers, etc)
    • Massive storage systems (SAN, NAS)
    • Database & database clustering
    • High Availability / Clustering Solutions on Linux & Solaris(Sun/Veritas Clustering)
  • Appreciation of business and commercial issues
  • Understanding of Mobile, Internet and Social Networking Space
